The North Country Center for Independence (NCCI) is hosting an art show on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 that celebrates the creativity of people with disabilities and those whose lives have been touched by disability.

We would like to shine a light on invisible disabilities, such as mental health issues, as well as physical, and developmental disabilities. Our goal is to create an inclusive space for all kinds of people to express themselves through art.

What you need to know:

When: May 20th, 10 am-2 pm

Where: Chapter One Coffee & Tea, Koffee Kat, and Trinity Park, Plattsburgh, New York

Art Drop off Times & Locations: Strand Center for the Arts, Plattsburgh, New York, May 3-6 & 10-13 10-7 pm.

If you would like to have art in the show, be sure to drop it off at the Strand by May 14th!

The goal is to showcase the talents of artists with disabilities where 100% of the sale directly supports people with disabilities. Artists can decide the price of their work and the percentage they would like to donate to NCCI. We ask that artists contribute a minimum of 10% or $5 from selling their pieces.

Join NCCI and Fesette Realty’s “Letters Of Love” Campaign!

SUMMARYPeople across the North Country are experiencing higher levels of isolation and loneliness during the pandemic. This is a real challenge for all of us, but particularly for our family and friends who reside in nursing homes.Therefore, NCCI is…

People across the North Country are experiencing higher levels of isolation and loneliness during the pandemic. This is a real challenge for all of us, but particularly for our family and friends who reside in nursing homes.

Therefore, the North Country Center for Independence is partnering with Fesette Realty, organizations, and community members to share handmade letters and cards to nursing home residents across Clinton, Essex, and Franklin counties.

GOAL: 1,500 cards and letters!

Cards and letters will be made and delivered to a local drop box or mailed to Fessette Realty in Plattsburgh

  • Letters will be accepted from February 12 through March 5

  • Letters will be delivered the week of March 15

Frequent updates will be posted on NCCI’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages throughout the campaign.
